I can't find or see a way to get a list of the bank transactions with a running balance. Does anyone know a way to generate this type of report.
Whilst writing I also think that adding a runnning balance to the 'account transactions' report would be very helpful.
Any help any where would be appreciated.

Depending on your need, there is one view of the bank account that contains balances, the 'Bank Statement' tab in the bank account itself or on the Bank Reconciliation screen. This lists all the items that have been imported into Xero from your bank. This doesn't show items you've entered into Xero yourself.

Hi Catherine
Thanks for your reply. It is the running balance on accounts not imported into Xero that are required. Cassandra posting under the other category has been really kind and helpful, but it didn't resolve my problem. So I also posted here as a wish list on Xero, sorry if I wasn't supposed to do that!!
Meanwhile Running balances on account transaction reports is a must in the type of accounting messes I sort out for clients!! It's a standard feature on the other accounting software I use and I really miss it here.
At the moment the problem I'm trying to sort out is a error on the credit card bank account from 2011. It appears the client has paid money from xero bank into the credit card account that was not due. I've requested all copy statements iro the credit card, but meantime just wanted to look at a running balance so I could tie down which month this started to go wrong in.
Any suggestions on how to proceed would help.

Do you know if the client used the 'transfer' option to move the money from one account to the other in Xero? Whether a transfer or payment, depending on how they might've referenced it you could try a search in the bank account in Xero, perhaps for 'transfer' or look at the Detailed General Ledger Report in Excel to search and sort on different amounts, payees, references or the bank accounts.
