I have about 4 years' worth of data in a Xero organisation that ceased trading on 31st December. I clearly no longer need active use of the organisation, but would like to retain "read-only" access for a couple of years maybe.

Do I need to continue paying the normal monthly subscription? Is there a read-only option?

Hi there - in this situation we normally recommend you take data out of Xero by exporting some key reports and lists for your quick access and reference later as a start. You can continue to pay a subscription if you like otherwise please get in touch with our Customer Care team (support@xero.com) as they can usually arrange for you to get access for reporting or retrieval purposes in future.

As a partner I'd like this for when a client ceases to trade or ceases to use Xero. it would be good to have access to the records for a period of time until it is clear there is no further requirement. As a partner I have an obligation to retain the information in case there is a dispute or query however I don't want to incur a full subscription cost when I can't pass this onto the client.
Perhaps a read only plan for a token cost for partners.
Catherine I there a charge for reporting or retrieval?

@serge that's a good point re retaining partner access if the exported reports and lists aren't enough. As for the data retrieval for a cancelled subscription - it really varies depending on the complexity and time it takes and level of access required - if you drop a note to billing@xero.com they can work through the options.
